Altitude 1100 - 2620 mSybelles still is an insides tip despite being now one of the largest ski areas in France. In the 1920s, the first ski lifts were opened. Today, the ski area "Les Sybelles" is composed by several ski stations. The ski resorts of La Toussuire, Le Corbier, St. Jean d'Arves, Les Bottières, St. Sorlin d'Arves, St. Colomban and Jarrier are situated between 1.500 and 1.800 m altitude on a hilly, sunny but elevated plateau high above the Maurienne valley.
The versatile ski slopes are especially made for families – approx. half of the 111 ski slopes are suitable for beginners and kids. The easy slopes are mostly situated next to the ski resorts, so that you can start directly from your accommodation. There are numerous connecting lifts and a total of around 80 ski lifts, offering a wide variety of diverse and varied slopes. Snowboarders can take advantage of two snow parks and more than 25 km cross-country ski runs are available, too. Les Sybelles offers 50 km of winter hiking trails, approx. 30 km snow-shoe trails and toboggan runs in La Toussuire, Le Corbier and Saint Sorlin d'Arves.
