Vaujany (1350m)
Ski area of Alpe d'Huez - Grand Domaine | Isère | Dauphiné | France
Vaujany is a small mountain village in the Department Isère directly opposite of the Massif des Grandes Rousses. With a hydroelectric power plant, Vaujany reached its wealth, which enabled Vaujany to blend tradition and novel architecture to a unique holiday resort. The village offers a library which is free of charge and a modern sports and leisure centre with a big swimming pool with slides and sauna, bowling alley and fitness centre.
Winter-Information ski & freeride
Vaujany is one of eight villages of the Alpe d’Huez ski area. L’Alpette at 2,050 m is directly accessible from Vaujany by cable way. From there you can either ski down to the nearby fun park in the Montfrais area, which also offers a lot of easy terrain, or you can go higher to Dôme des Petites Rousses at 2,800 m. The highlight of the ski area is the Pic Blanc at 3,300 m with many expert slopes. The Tunnel slope leads through extreme terrain and the Serenne descent is a difficult black slope which is 16 km long.
Toboggan and other winter activities
An easy toboggan run can be found directly in Vaujany. But there is also a more difficult one at the L’Alpette station. Vaujany has two different cross-country slopes. The Circuit des Lacs is 20 km long and the Boucle de Poutran is 10 km long. The sports centre offers an ice rink and you can book guided snow shoe tours.
