Itter am Wilden Kaiser (703m)
The village of Itter is situated at the bottom of the Hohe Salve, near the Wilder Kaiser, in the Kitzbühel Alps. Itter is part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental ski area, one of the largest ski areas in Austria, with a very diverse range of winter and mountain sports. The ski area starts right on the outskirts of the village. With 244 kilometres of slopes and 83 lifts & cable cars, it is one of Tyrol's top ski areas.
Numerous other winter activities such as snowshoe hiking, tobogganing and cross-country skiing (Angerberg / Mariastein cross-country skiing centre) are also possible. The cross-country trail in Itter starts in the centre of the village and has a transition to the Söll cross-country trail. It is therefore a connection to the cross-country skiing network of the Wilder Kaiser region.
