Crans-Montana (1500m)

Crans-Montana | Valais | Switzerland

The double village of Crans-Montana with its stylish and exclusive ambience has a lot to offer both in winter and summer! Situated on a mostly sunny plateau high above the Rhône valley, the traditionally grown Crans-Montana combines the advantages of a modern holiday resort with an intensive nature experience. Magnificent views open up from the Plaine Morte glacier over the Valais Alps to Montblanc and the Matterhorn. The Crans-Montana ski resort is one of the most important ski regions in the Swiss canton of Valais.

Rustic mountain village and urban flair? Here both combine harmoniously, guests will find an excellent infrastructure as well as a wide range of sports and leisure activities to suit every taste. Après-ski, a comprehensive gastronomic and cultural offer, numerous events in summer and winter as well as extensive shopping possibilities provide a lot of variety. Even though the holiday season is busy, there are still quieter places just outside the centre of the two suburbs.

Crans-Montana is a very family-friendly holiday resort. The cute marmot mascot "Bibi" has its own fun park for the little ones with a great idea. How about for example an adrenalin kick in the Fun Forest with 5 courses for children from 5 years, playing mini golf, treasure hunt or boating on an underground lake? In winter the families meet in Snow Island (minimum age: 3 years): snow tubing, carpet lift for little ski bunnies and sleigh riders, snow carousel and the snow kindergarten of the Swiss Ski School of Crans-Montana can be found here. A babysitting service, which can be arranged on site (no service from alpine chalets), is certainly also very interesting for parents. So mum and dad can enjoy a romantic evening for two.

Winter-Info Skiing & Freeride
From the sunny plateau above the Rhône valley, the Crans-Montana ski area leads up to the Plaine Morte glacier at 3000 m.
140 kilometres of pistes with 27 ski lifts, cable cars and gondolas offer variety for all levels at altitudes from 1,510 to 2,927 metres. The "Montana - Arnouva" gondola lift offers direct access to the ski area.
Above the forest line, the pistes are wide and open, ideal for beginners, but also for deep snow descents. Advanced skiers will enjoy the La Toula chairlift. The wide carving pistes and the downhill run on the Nationale slope, the longest in the region at up to 8 km, are also very popular.
Freeriders will also find plenty of opportunities to ski off-piste. In the two fun parks with spectacular halfpipe, boardercross and much more, freestylers will get their money's worth.
Crans-Montana is also a paradise for cross-country skiers with 16 km of cross-country trails and offers numerous winter hiking trails for those who want to take it easy. In addition to the classic style trails, there is an extra slope for skaters and a 6 km toboggan run.
