Crans-Montana (1500m - 3000m)

Crans-Montana | Switzerland
Altitude 1,510 - 2,927 m, below Plaine Morte glacier.

The scenic Crans-Montana ski resort is located at an altitude of 1,510 - 2,927 m in the western Swiss canton of Valais. On a sunny plateau high above the Rhone valley, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the sun and magnificent views of the great mountain landscape on the 140 km of ski runs, usually throughout the season. 27 lifts and funicular railways (some renovated and modernised) transport winter sports enthusiasts up to the Plaine Morte glacier at an altitude of 2,927 m, where there is also an igloo village with a high-altitude club and restaurant.

In clear weather, the view from the Bella Lui viewpoint (2,543 m) over the glaciers of the Valais Alps south of the Rhône from the Mischabel Group in the east to the peaks in the lower Valais, including the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc, is breathtaking.

Three direct entrances provide easy access to the ski area: one each in the centre of Crans and Montana and one from Les Barzettes.

The Crans-Montana ski resort, with its long tradition, offers a great variety of 61 pistes - from the youngest beginner to the most experienced skier, there is something for everyone. Snowboarders will also get their money's worth here: on over 100,000 m² one of the best snow parks in Western Switzerland awaits them with the only "Superpipe 22". Another highlight is the approx. 8 km long stretch from the Plaine Morte glacier down to Montana.
Freeride fans can explore the ski area on 15 varied ski tours.

The Crans-Montana ski area also has a lot to offer for families. Even so much that it received the "Family Destination" seal of approval. Numerous activities for the little ones offer plenty of variety. In addition to beginner slopes, where even the youngest can learn their first turns, the house of Bibi, the marmot mascot of Crans-Montana, welcomes the youngest guests with animations, games and laughter. In winter, the golf course is transformed into a snow island where everyone can have fun. And if mum and dad want to have time for themselves, the local tourist office offers a babysitting service.

After a sporty day on the slopes, you can enjoy a variety of leisure activities in the various bars, restaurants and shops that have grown over the years. The Cry d'Er Club d'Altitude awaits its guests with an exuberant après-ski atmosphere, where you can end the day in a festive mood.
