Aletsch Arena (1845m - 2869m)

Valais | Switzerland
Altitude 1.845 - 2.869 m.

The Aletsch ski area is situated in the Upper Valais and made of three car free villages: Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp. This area is a winter wonderland next to the world famous Aletsch glacier in the heart of Switzerland. If you go there for a ski holiday its altitude guarantees for good snow coverage, compared to other ski resorts. The ski lifts are usualy running from December until April and you can mostly start directly from the chalets. There are all kinds of slopes for every level. Also for non-skiers the Aletsch area offers a wide choice of activities, e g a snow shoe hiking trail between Bettmeralp and Riederalp or cross-country ski runs that lead round the Lake Bettmer. There is a 13 km long coasting slide from Fiescheralp down to Lax. In summer you can go hiking with a beautiful view of the biggest glacier of the Alps, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
